Day 2 sees us arrive in Coonabarabran, driving past the Warumbungles. What a lovely silhouette they make. Staying at the dog friendly John Oxley CP. However, Elle has already suffered from her lack of solid footwear.... bindis yesterday and three cornered jacks today. Not here in the CP but out exploring the back blocks of the town. We shall have to buy her boots!

Day 1. A lovely drive up to Forbes. The countryside is looking prosperous. The new side mirror withstood the depredations of large trucks, so hopefully we will get a better view behind us and what is overtaking us, than last year. The CV Park is delightful, right on the banks of the Lachlan River in park-like surrounds. A bit warmer than home as well but not too warm for a scotch followed by a red!

Our day of departure dawns cold and clear. A leisurely start to the trip on day 1 as we head out for Forbes on the banks of the Lachlan River.
