THE INDIAN PACIFIC
With its bold wedge-tailed eagle emblem symbolising the scope, range and significance of each epic journey, the Indian Pacific traverses mountain ranges, passes through arid deserts and goldfields, rocky valleys and subtropical savannahs on its transcontinental crossings.
Named for the two oceans the train encounters on its journey, the Indian Pacific travels between Perth, Adelaide and Sydney on a spectacular 4352km crossing.

Nullarbor Crossing - On this Journey
The world's longest straight stretch is 297 miles on the Trans-Australian Railway between Loongana, Western Australia and Ooldea, South Australia.
After a leisurely breakfast with desert views, followed by a stop at the outback ghost town of Cook. We had a spectacular dinner under the stars at Rawlinna, the Nullarbor outpost that borders a 'little' sheep station of a mere 8,000 square kilometres.
The railway line has the longest straight section of railway in the world (478 km, 297 mi), while the Eyre Highway (refer below) contains the longest straight section of tarred road in Australia (146 km, 91 mi)
