During your time in port in Kona, spend your day on a shore excursion to Waikoloa Beach on the Big Island’s northwest coast. At the Kings’ Shops at Waikoloa Beach Resort, you’ll find an exciting collection of shopping and dining; you can then spend the rest of your afternoon taking a relaxing walk along Anaeho’omalu Beach or snorkeling in the bay. This Kona shore excursion allows you to enjoy your day in Waikoloa Beach at your own pace.
When your ship arrives at the Kona port, hop on the waiting transfer bus to start your Waikoloa Beach shore excursion. This is the perfect excursion if you’re looking for a loose itinerary that allows you to explore at your own pace.
The bus will take you to Kings’ Shops, located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. Here you’ll find a variety of shopping – from gift items crafted by local artisans to Hawaiian-themed shirts. You’ll be sure to find a perfect gift to take home to friends and family.
On Wednesdays, Kings’ Shops Farmers Market sells locally grown fruits and vegetables, Hamakua Macadamia Nuts, Macadamia Nut Brittle and other delicious treats. Or for a nice relaxing meal, sit down to upscale, Hawaiian-inspired cuisine at one of the restaurants.
Then, take a stroll along Anaeho’omalu Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Kona’s Kohala Coast. Anaeho’omalu Beach is covered with golden sand, has a ring of tall palm trees and is home to serene fish ponds. The calm waters welcome you to swim or snorkel – watch for sea turtles and other marine life. Relax on the beach and soak in the sunshine or let the tall palm trees shelter you from the sun.
