While you’re in port, see all the major highlights of Denmark's capital on this introductory city tour of Copenhagen. During this shore excursion, you will see the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Christiansborg Palace, Thorvaldsen's Museum and the National Museum, just to name a few. And, of course, you’ll also see the symbol of Copenhagen -- the Little Mermaid statue.
While you’re in port in Copenhagen, get familiar with the city on this 1.5-hour city tour shore excursion. You will pass many of the city's great museums, including the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, built by the founder of the Carlsberg brewery over a century ago. The art museum houses collections like classical Egyptian, Roman and Greek antiquities, Romanticist sculptures, and paintings, as well as Golden Age Danish art and an extensive collection of Etruscan art.
Thorvaldsen's Museum houses the art work of Denmark's most famous artist, Bertel Thorvaldsen. You will also pass the National Museum, Denmark's largest museum of cultural history.
Then pass by Christiansborg Palace, dating from 1733 and home to the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court and the State Rooms. The Palace is located on a small island and is separated from the city center by a moat-like canal.
Lastly, you can’t possibly visit Copenhagen without seeing the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale. The Little Mermaid is the most popular tourist attraction in Denmark and is one of the most photographed statues in the world.
