Well you'll all no doubt be pleased (& a little relieved) to hear that we have landed safely.
The travelling proved to be somewhat less straightforward than initially anticipated - as this was only our first flights of our "adventure" I am now becoming slightly concerned about our future travel plans !!
Our connecting flight from Newark was delayed by 4 hours, due to adverse weather conditions - believe it or not it was snowing in New York. We finally touched down in Orlando at 11:30pm - after a total travelling time in excess of 24 hours.
At this stage, the last thing I was wanting to discover was that my baggage had not made it onto the connecting flight - leaving me with the prospect of the spending a further 24-hours in my current attire............at least Rachael seemed to see the funny side of this.
All of the chargers & cables were stored in my luggage, hence the lack of contact over the last couple of days.
After spending a day in the stores, buying a new holiday wardrobe (I can only get away with wearning Rachael's pants for so long !) and some toiletries we returned to the Villa to be re-united with my luggage - it was an emotional moment.
After spending a couple of lazy days relaxing by the pool, I ventured to the local Golf Club today (Rachael spent another day in the shops). We spotted a couple of gators sunning themselves by the water hazards, which was enough to encourage me to "give up" my wayward shots as lost.
We are planning to take a trip to a State Park tomorrow - taking in a boat trip on the St Johns River. This should give me the option of snorkelling in the clearwater springs - possibly in the company of the manatees.
Check out the latest photos & thanks for your messages to date.
I'll keep you posted.....
