21/3/2011 Late rise and tried out our first bit of Indian cuisine, a vegetable-omelette with toast. Not bad. Sarah, a Portuguese girl at the hostel, showed us the ropes by taking us to the city centre of Mumbai (as we were staying in the outskirts in a place called Andheri) via our first tuctuc ride and a 45-minute train costing less than 50p in total! 3/2/2011 We'd only scraped a few hours kip but it was time for the daunting yet exciting shark dive. We kitted up and drove to the launch site on the beach at the rivermouth. We had to have lifejackets on to start as the waves are so lethal if you got knocked off, you could be in serious trouble. 2/2/2011 Up early so that me and Jack could get to Umkomaas on the coast. We jumped on a shuttle to Underberg where only Jack paid and then we hitch-hiked to Ixopo. First of all a white South African gave us a lift to the junction near Bulmer where we hopped in a group of black guys' car. 1/2/2011 Today was our trip through the Drakensberg mountains into Lesotho. Driven in a 4x4 by a lovely, old South African chap, we took in the stunning scenery of the mountains, meadows, plant life (including the nickname of the cricket team - the Proteas), lakes, rivers, waterfalls, foliage, livestock, baboons and ice rat!
