So after we had the delights and beauty of the Bay of Islands we headed right up to the most Northern point of New Zealand, 90 mile beach, surprisingly 90 mile beach is actually only 52 miles long the cheek! However when we got up there we got the cricket bat and footy out and chilled out on the beach for a couple of hours. Just after lunch we started the mamoth 11 hour drive down to Rotorua. We were too shattered to find anywhere to stay so for the second night running we found ourselves tucked up in a layby. After waking up early we headed to see the buried village however decided it would be a bit too costly so went down to the lake and then headed to the hot springs. We then spent the rest of the day walking around these springs which you can see in the pictures. Stupidly they put up signs saying danger do not touch the water. Like the idiots we are this seemed like an invitation to dunk our hands in the 100 degree water with an acid level of 2.5PH a slight stinging sensation! Once again we were on the move to our next port of call Lake Taupo. We decided after 2 nights ruffing it and the only time our body had touched water was in the sea to splash out on a campervan park. We parked up and all 4 of us jumped into the pool and spent the rest of the afternoon cleanning shaving etc. Later that eve i headed down into town to get some money out and the ATM ate my card. But luckily by sweet talking the manager i got it back the next day. Today we had a lie in past our normal wake up time of 7.30 and headed into Lake Taupo the boys did a sky dive and then we headed to these hot springs. Another excellent deep clean. We have just gone to the supermarket to buy some bbq food and beer tongight before doing an all day hike 2moro. Hope everyone at home is ok its lovely to hear everones msgs. PS check out the video of the beach at the bay of islands in the video section its mint!
