Greetings from NZ.
I arrived on Monday around 1ish local time, went through passport control no problems, took the same amount time as the UK. The officer scanned my passport then said, 'good to see ya thomas", this gave me the impression that i have made the right decison in which country to settle in. lol
We met the rep in the glorious sun, and got a mini bus to the hostel. Checked in and all the guys managed to get in the same room. Went for a walk down Queen street followed by Starbucks, which is becoming a habbit now, its like my 3rd one in 5 days. After the caffine intake we met the others for some food, and then went for a drink inthe bar that is connected to hostel, known as the globe bar.
The next day we woke up had some breakfast and had our induction with IEP, who went through out bank accounts, tax no, getting work and accomodation. They seemed to be on top of everything and I was very impreseed and they made me feel at ease. After the induction I went straight to the bank to apply for my tax no and bank account. Next onthe list was gettin a mobile, i got some cheap one from Vodafone, pay as you go, get cheap calls and texts to Uk. In the evening IEP hosted a bar event where we get cheap food and drink, nice food. We ventured on to the next pub called Father Teds, brilliant, we did the quiz and came third, which wasnt bad.
Today is Wed, we are checking out but checking back in later into a new room, till Monday. Today we have to go to the bank to collect our cards and confirm everything. then i think the plan is to hit the beach.
