Hey yo Globe-trekkers!! Where are you now? Transjellyville, Juicyfruitlunacy USA, The Islamic Republic of Snozzburger?! Bet you wish you were back home taking part in our Uni reunion huh? I plan to join Emma, Cat and Gay Rich for the first round of drinks and then drop out without graduating.
We'll drink extra for both of you and maybe one for Jon - remember him??
Anna - I sent you an email so I expect a funny reply.
Represent for the UK and remeber if the foriegners you meet don't speak English, they will start to understand if you repeat yourselves loudly and slowly and gesture dramatically.

Hey Tom and Anna,
I'm glad to hear you having a great time in Fiji! It seems very pretty when I look at the photos you made. I'm starting to get a little bit jalous. I'm still home till the 1st of september, but the weather is very bad in Belgium. It's cold and rainy :-(
I wish you loads of fun in the other countries you are visiting and I will keep on visiting your website so I can follow your trip a little bit. I've seen on the photos you are still travelling with Chris, so say hello to him for me and also wish him loads of fun!
love,
Berna

Hey Geoff and Sue,
We had a great time in San Antonio, the home of The Alamo, which is very interesting, there is also a nice river walk you can do in that area with lots of good bars and restraunts. I remember there being a very good hotel right in the middle of all that. Also you can travel to Del Rio and check out the border with Mexico, worth a trip over just to see the different culture and cheap booze and food. Glad to hear your garage went well.
Write soon

Hi Tom and Anna, have just been digesting the latest batch of photos. What a wonderful time you must be having!! Fiji definitely looks like our cup of tea - shame about the hiccup with having your cash taken Tom, but how nice of all those who made up for it - there are some genuine good guys left. Dad and Jack have been helping us put a new roof on our garage this week. (Jack even got a bit sunburnt on Monday as the weather has been quite good). They've made a very good job of it, anyway, and we are very pleased. We have booked to go to Texas for our holidays - perhaps you've got some tips?? Take care and carry on the good work! G & S

Hi All,
So nice to read all your messages! We have just got back on to the mainland after Island hopping around the Yasawa Islands. It is ridiculously beautiful, the weather is awesome and the see is is crystal clear. We have done some great snorkeling, kyaking amd swimming, and have had a couple of nice day cruises on a big boat and a yacht. The local people are super friendly - "Bula!" (hello in Fijian) is a term they say just passing on the street, they are very hospitable and take care of us very well. The hostel we are in on the mainland is more like a hotel, and the food there is extremley good indeed!
The only bad thing to have happened to us was on the first island we visited... We walked over the island to the other side where the famous Blue Lagood beach is, the same one where the Brooke Sheilds movie was filmed. Anyway to cut a story short, I (Tom) had $150 stolen from my wallet on the beach by some dodgy Indian fisherman who apparently were not supposed to be there, what was worse is they did it right infront of us, I was in the sea but all our bags were with a couple of English girls we made good friends with, theese fisherman were sleazing on to them and in the process taxed me up. Obviosuly I was gutted and annoyed, it is about 50 pounds in our money, anyway, I confronted them with all the group but of course they denied it but it was obviously them. However later in the day a really touching gesture was made by some people we were travelling with called Roger and Joy a really nice couple from New Zealand a similar age to my parents, they were like everyone, disgusted and went up the beach to one of the resorts, and spoke to some locals who were appalled and very upset and concerned, one of them (a local artist named Charles) felt so bad about it all he gave them $50 to give to me so that my trip to the island wasn't ruined by these idiots, then Roger and Joy and another nice couple Margret and Tony chipped in $30 and the kind people at our resort $20 so I made much of the money back. It was so kind that people you hardly know or have never met, would do so much to appease the situation. I was very grateful, because there was no way of getting money on the islands 'cause they are so remote, ATM is not a term they are familiar with. In the end the kindness shown to me by these people far outweighed what had happened earlier and I realised there really are more nice people than a******s in this world. As luck would have it I met the kind man who gave me $50 on the boat between one of the islands, Charles and I got on very well and he is one of the most pleasent people I've ever had the pleasure to meet, he spends his years 6months in Canada and 6months in Fiji, but has a house here and is pals with all the locals because he's been coming here for over 30 years now. If anyone is interested in his work he has just finished illustrating the 100th anniversary edition of Wind in the Willows in London.
Hope everyone is well,
Tom and Anna
P.S.
Kate, great to hear from you, hope you are having just as much fun visiting Vegas and the Canyon for the second time in 3 weeks, I'm sure you will, plus you'll have Mum and Dad to pay for stuff in Vegas now so it should be more fun, you have to take your Dad to the gun range!
Harris' - If you look at the front page it has the itinerary so you can have a rough look at where we are going. Great to hear from you, and I'm sure we'll be in touch about Thailand when we go there in a few months.
David - Well I hope you don't get too jealous, but in regards to your question I have done the Brit tourist thing you reffered to, have a look at the New Orleans pics and you will see in the captions for one of the photo's what occured one fine evening on Bourbon Street.
Marek - Good to hear you had fun messing about on boats. The lack of civilisation is something we are growing used to after spending the last week boating and staying on the Fijian, Yasawa Islands. Amazing!
David
Hi Tom,
If there's one thing worse than having one of your mate's jet-setting around the world, it's when they create these amazing photo web sites to really rub your nose in it! :-)
Seriously, the pics look fantastic. I'm insanely Jealous. Just wondered if you've done your Brit Tourist bit yet and had yourself barred from any pubs/clubs?

Hello Anna, Tom - hope you're having fun in Fiji! Just got back from a few days sailing with your Mum, Dad and Mike. We went across to the Isles of Scilly at the weekend and they're planning to spend a few days there exploring the islands. When I left them to fly back, they were anchored in a cove on a little rock in the Atlantic called St Agnes, which boasts one shop, a pub and a handful of three-eyed locals. Unfortunately the internet and the 21st century (or the 20th for that matter) hasn't reached the Scillies yet, so they asked me to pass on their hellos and best wishes.
