So what else are you supposed to do at a lake other than go for a boat ride? (Ed don't even think about saying fishing!) We caught the slowest boat (the one that got lost on it's way to China) to Isla del Sol, island of the Sun, where we were given 2 hours to go explore the Inca ruins. We found them pretty easily after about 1 hour of walking, so after a few quick pics we head back to ensure we don't miss our water taxi. Somehow the trail we followed to the ruins ended up leading us back a different way and we ended up standing over a beautiful bay...a bay with no water taxi below. With only 15 minutes before departure, we ended up running back and forth between the terraces like headless lamas trying to figure out which cobbled lane leads us down to the correct bay. To heck with the cobbled windy lanes! We see the bay so we just head straight down the hillside, hopping over stone walls and running through the locals back yards. We were even chased by a donkey that didn't appreciate our short cut through his grassy patch. One of the locals even tried to ask for money to run through his yard, clearly this island is over visited by tourists, yet they still have no signs in English directing you to the docks!
But! We made it! ...no camping the night snuggled up next to Eeyore.
After getting back to Copacabana we scrambled up the mountain side to watch the sunset for the last time in Bolivia! (Afterwards we wished we bought a torch with us, thats the damn problem with sunsets isnt it!) Tomorrow our last bus ride across Bolivia before we cross over into Peru - sniff sniff!! We opted for a daytime bus as the overnight buses were getting too much for me - you may think the driver is taking chances coz he's driven the road so many times and is drawing on his extensive experience, but the fact of the matter is a large majority of them are drunk as its not illegal to drink and drive in Bolivia!! ( if it is it's not enforced).

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeesh Soooooooooooooooooooo jealous. Did you guys win the lottery or something?? How do you afford a 4 month vacation?? Since we're getting back home around the same time, I vote for a Bite your Tongue meeting as soon as possible. I've tried sushi in 5 cities in the US so far, and Durban's little gem of a restaurant is still better :D. Miss you guys
Warren Hey Lucy, thanks for the updates. I must admit your blogging has kept me mildly entertained and I intend to keep reading should you keep up the good work:) I told Tim that if I had known that you had such grammatical skill and were not just a bean-counter I would have had you contributing on my dissertation. No worries, that all behind us now......we'll save your skills for the upcoming Phd:) Moving on.....where is Tim in all of this? Has he lost his voice already? Tell him you're still newly weds and that husbands don't lose their voice and until at least the 3rd year of marriage:) Seriously, we are all secretly jealous of your trip and are just struggling to find something exciting to reply with when writing back......so, while nothing much has changed since you've left we will be celebrating Chelsea's b/day tomorrow (15th of March)!!! Can't believe it's gone so quickly. Tell Tim he's needed back at Villa Darley as we have to restore the testosterone balance in the household. It's tough taking on so many woman:) From the MBA group of friends, the news is that Ed has successfully established poker nights at his house. MattG has broken away (very briefly) from attending weddings to join us in one occasion. Russell has become a regular (all two times) and MattH (aka Fat Matt) has disappeared. We suspect he has gone on a holiday much like you two, only the place must be far more remote and technology deficient.....he's not even responding to mail or tel calls......must be really far away.....we're suspecting somewhere just north of Hillcrest:) Otherwise, all is well and by the time you get back Chelsea will have graduated from varsity:) so hurry back and come join the madness that is the Darley household. All the best you two and travel safely. Regards, Warren
