Tim and Debbie's Travels....
Arrived in Moscow after a 12 hours journey on board the first leg of our Trans-Siberian train trip. We got bundled into our 4 berth cabin with 2 aussie girls, who live in London, who were very nice, and we all shared some cheap Soviet Champagne and warm beer then nodded off. We stayed in a 3 star hotel, with some proper rude staff, which is pretty standard and when you get use to it, is really funny. Checked out all the main sites Red Square, tick, Kremlin, tick and big shiny cathedral, tick. Wally of the day went to me for getting pick-pocketed by a five year old and his eight year old sister in Red Square, Hero of the day went to Debbie for grabbing him and going straight for the kids pants only to recover it!! This led to the older sister giving him a clip round the ear. Not for stealing it, but for getting caught I think!! Anyway a close escape and a lesson learnt. No more wallets in pockets! Went clubbing with the aussie girls we met and their friend (Hi Amanda, Gem and Trish) and passed the notorious "face control" operated by Moscow clubs, and got wellied on vodka and beers, we also did some dancin' (apparently). Finished off our stay by getting all patriotic and watching England lose in a packed Irish bar, leaving us having to get a cab straight to the train station to catch the train to Lake Baikal. Speak to you all soon. XX Tim and Deb
