After a weary jounrney across the border back into Chile we arrived in Pucon, a super pretty alpine style ski town. Our mission, to scale an active volcano and peep into the hole and see some bubbling lava. All good in theory. We kept a keen eye on the traffic light style warning system on the main street which monitors the volcano activity - green meaning "all good lets go for coffee and cake", red meaning "we are all going to perish in an unfathomalbly gruesome and painful death". It stayed green thankfully, but unfortunatly the weather stayed grey and rainy, which puts pay to any notion of scaling the snowy monster. Days went by, and we cosied up in our well, cosy hostel. Eating the finest home made brownies......we cured hangovers along with our irish comrade Pauric at the natural hot springs, also in the rain. Couple more days went by - we updatde our website!! Still no change. Then rumours started circulating that the weather was clearing and would be clear for a climb by the weekend. But we also started hearing how incredibly difficult and scary the climb was, so we took this as our cue to get the funk outta there. Mendoza and mucho wine tasting was calling back in Argentina.Next time you mountainous beast of boiling broth, next time.
