We are in Lima now, for a quick shopping trip in very cheap shops before we head off for our mammoth journey to New Zealand.

We have been in Cuzco for 7 nights. We extended stay here and less in Lima, basically because its a much much nicer place and we were having lots of fun. Many brilliant nights out. We were also thoguht we should see yet more ancient bricks, but they turned out too be pretty cool and some absolutel stunning views. We just came back from Mach Picchu yesterday after a 4 day trek which was awesome even though it rained for 2 of them. Still, its not as if we were slumming it as crazy porters ran up and over the mountains with all our stuff (while only wearing sandals) and then set up our tents and prepared our 3 course meals! We ate like kings with tea and coffee brought to tents in morning, then breakfast, lunch (also 3 course), tea (lots of popcorn) then supper. In cuzco...

Quick postcard to say we are in Lima. A huge, polluted city that is very poor. We are staying in a very hippy style hostel. with hammocks, communal bathrooms, in that there are just 3 full bathrooms where ppl use toilet whilst others about a metre away are using sink. Surfboards everywhere and beer crates as seats! The sheets on the bed arent changed that often so i{ve got an annoying itch like flea infested dog! LOOvely. tim

Cool day today..We thought we would go and see few markets, so went for massve walk through Buenos to the designer market that was apparently meant to have lots of up and coming argentinian designers showing their clothes and jewlerry. It took us 5 hours to walk to where it was meant to be but in the end nothing wass there.
