Thursday 7 - Saturday 9 February
We travel a route today, to San Antonio, suggested by T.R. at Iron Horse BMW in Tucson. It takes us along perfect biking roads and through real ranch country. We also go through small towns with names such as Leaky and Utopia! Eventually, we hit big city roads again and that means back to the mix of different freeways and finding our way to downtown San Antonio. We are centrally located for all the tourist attractions that San Anotonio offers. On our way into town we see the local BMW/Triumph dealer so call in and speak to a guy call Jeremy Ewing....and no, we didn't ask him if he was related to J.R.!!
So, when in San Antonio the things one has to do include the Riverwalk, a trip up the Tower of the Americas in the Hemisfair park and a visit to the Alamo. The Tower of Americas in the Park offers fantastic views of the whole of San Antonio and there we also see a 3D movie of what Texas has to offer. The Alamo is another trip back in time and very interesting to learn about its part in American history. The River Walk is an extension of the San Antonio river with bars, restaurants and boat trips on the river.
After our time in San Antonio it is time to decide where to head to next, so taking a look at the map we notice Nacogdoches which was mentioned in the information provided on Texas at the Park. Nocogdoches is important in Texan history as it is the oldest town in Texas and, as it is in an Easterly direction, that's where we decide to head to next.
