Took a day tour of Los Angeles on the Rasta Bus. There were about 18 of us on the bus and the driver was funny and informative. Spent all day at "Six Flags Magic Mountain" park in Santa Clarita just above Los Angeles. It's known for having the most roller coasters in one park, I felt sick just looking at them but Phoebe and Alan were grinning from ear to ear in anticipation. Bit of a travel day today down the west coast, BUT, we did make a stop at Solvang which is a very small place, originally a Danish settlement. It is full of classy gift shops, bakeries, craft shops, wine tasting places and cafés. Buildings were very Danish and few windmills thrown in. Very touristy but in a classy, pleasant way. Ha ha Elephant Seals are so funny! We went to the Elephant Seal Rookery near San Simeon this afternoon. Elephant Seals have funny trunk like noses which wobble as they move. The rather strange and funny noise they make by snorting through their noses made us all laugh. To move they wiggle like a caterpillar ,using their flippers as well, this makes their blubber jiggle which is very funny. Drove down Pacific Coastal Highway from Monterey to San Luis Obispo, despite foggy areas we did see some spectacular scenery. We also stopped off for a hike to a viewing point at one of the state parks along the "Big Sur" coastline, don't get too excited it was only a 15 min walk to the view.
