Wow , Wow and Wow ! Just been to the Grand Canyon by Helicopter. This was our first time in a helicopter and it was really cool, we had to wear funny headsets so we could hear what each other were saying. Mum was really proud that she didn't throw up and quite enjoyed it. The trip to the Canyon lasted about 45 mins and we flew over the Hoover dam. The helicopter descended right down into the Canyon and landed at the bottom. It was hot, hot hot. Where we landed was 4000 feet to the top which is 2x what Joey flies! When you look at the pictures try to imagine Joey halfway down. It was also 2.5 miles wide where we landed. We then went on a boat ride down the Colorado River. It was incredible how you saw how the water had carved it's way through the rock. After the boat trip we had a short 5 min helicopter trip up to the rim next to the"skywalk". For those of you who don't know this is a loop of steel and glass with a glass floor that extends 70 feet out from the canyon wall and has a drop of 1800 feet below it. Apparently it would take 14 seconds before you hit the ground YIKES!!! We were all very brave and walked it and have pictures to prove it, (even Mum who found it super freaky stepping on the glass and seeing that stupendous drop below). We were not allowed to take out own cameras but hopefully we can download the professional ones to the blog later . What an amazing day, check out the Grand Canyon photo album for some awesome pics. We are now going to the Lazy River to relax after a fantastic day.
