Just got back from a 3 day camping EXTRAVAGANZA on fraser sland!! was wkd we were really lucky in the fact we had a lovely lovely group. it consisted of me niki and helen , rose an irish girl and 7 irish lads(i wont mention all their names) they were wkd, did everytin for us, drove, map read, cared for us, cooked!!!and they were absolutly hilarious they made the party(other 3 groups) come to us every night!! right so ....we got given our groups on the monday and we all wen to the shop to by provisons. the other groups laughed at us when we spent over 500 dollars on alchol , 270 dollars on food and 77 on meat!however we eat well, got very merry and all the other groups had way to little alchol!result!! we then packed a small day back put our large bags in storgae and went to bed.
TUESDAY 6.45 we arose , packed the van, hada a briefing and set off!!all very fun singing songs on the way to the ferry and gettin 2 know each other better! its a self drive tour so we drive/navigate/camp / cook do eveytin ourselves 4 3 days!! arrived on fraser and headed straight to lake birabeeen, white sand and goregeous clear water. played wrestling in the water, took under water pictres and a game called donkey. then headed to another lake were we had lunch! by 4 we had 2 head of 2 camp because of the tide ,we had to be off the beach by 5 otherwise we wud have been submersed in the sea water and stranded!
set up camp, 5 tents in a circle with an undercover camp area in the middle. hada bbq and played games. unfortuntely it was raining but this did not dampen our spirits and we drunk and danced and sung with the other teams(44 poeple altogether) until well into the early hours of the morning!
WEDNESDAY 6.30 am...awoke because of the heat in the tent and the scorching sunhine. set off abbout 7.30 for LAke wobby(my fave place of fraser) u have to walk there across a desert and over sand dunes, with the scorching heat and blue sky it was a boootiful sight. we arived an hour later to a gorgeous deserted fresh water lake with a rainforest behind it and verticle sand dunes u cud jump/role/dive down straight into the lake!
reluctantly we went back and had Brunch and set off 2 see the maheno ship wreck and indian heads!..a lookout point to see tiger sharks! again the night was similar to the first..major food session on the portable barbie/ drinking games and fun! we all sat down in a circle and looked at the stars there was absolutly THOUSANDS...very fun!!!!
i would like to take this time to talk about the WILD DINGOS...dogs who insist on coming round the camp all the time lookin 4 food. very very very scary and when ur assleeep u can here them creeping around! ALSO the fact we had to go to the toilet in a hole. u take the shovel make a hole and do your business!we literally didnt shower 4 3days! the next day THURSDAy we set off 4 lake mckenzie...a fresh water lake. absoutly stunning were u drink the water its that fresh!! had bootiful weather and stayed for ages!! very fun times! then we headed off and returned thursday night back to a shower.shampoo and normality!!all in all a brillaint 3 days and our group SCLUB 11 were fab!
