So Zoe and Lucy finally arrived after getting what was probably the last flight out of Europe! We greeted them in true friendly style whilst they were trying to sleep after the flight! We went to get our bearings around Sydney then some Mexican food! (not very Australian but still good!)
Next day was spent organising trip down the east coast in Tribal travel, lots of advice and free stuff (including pancake mix mmmmm!) Booked flight up to Cairns along with many trips we will update you all with. Then went for a wander around Sydney and sat in the sunshine (see England, you're not the only one with sun!) in the park overlooking the opera house and bridge.
We got up incredibly early for our 6am flight to Cairns. Staying in Bohemia hostel which is ok, kitchens not great but we get our own room. Went for a walk around the town and to the supermarket.
Another early morning to go and see the Great Barrier Reef. Weather not so great, incredibly wet and the sea was rough but snorkelling was still good and was still the great barrier reef. Nice and friendly staff on board the boat and ggod food thrown in. Also got to lie on the netting at the front of the Catamaran and get incredibly splashed in the face with water! Good times.
We have done some more exploring today and have found the Cairns lagoon which is a big outdoor swimming pool in a park.
More trips planned later in the week but will keep you all in suspense as to what they are!!
