Sydney, Australia
Sydney, New South Wales
Sydney Australia! What can i say? It's such an amazing place. No really, it's everything you expect and more. I stayed at the Marriot right next to the harbour, stunning hotel. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a friendly aussie smile. In the morning i travelled to The Royal Botanical gardens where there's so many different trees that i've never heard of- this is one cool thing about Sydney; the nature.
The Opera house was built back in the 1970's by a Danish Architect to give the city an internationally recognised icon. The sunshades along the harbour compliment the Opera house nicely.
You must visit china town, it hasn't got the same 'buzz' as London's CT however but the food on the top floor is delicious. I ordered a Katsu prawn curry and it was the best i've had! After walking through china town with the usual "come eat here" environment, you are welcomed by the peaceful Darling harbour; it's a must see. It's extremely elegant with bohemians relaxing by the harbour without a care in the world, utter bliss.
After this i just let myself get lost in the city, taking a walk along the streets and 'people watching.' There is such a mix of nationalities in Sydney, majority Asian and White. I saw lots of fashonistas and trend-setters, very exciting!
Another beautiful place to visit is Hyde Park. Hyde park has the right amount of everything; grass, trees, birds and people. My picnic here was delightful!
Finally on the evening you can take a boat from the harbour around Sydney and watch the city in all it's glory- at night. However, just like New York, this city doesn't seem to sleep! haha.
Things i have learnt about Sydney, Australia:
The people are so welcoming and you can talk to anyone!
The streets are so clean, and there are hardly any smokers! haha
It's like a cross between London/San Francisco
It's really expensive
Overall a lovely place.
Ciao x
