How do you fill in 2 weeks in a small town on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain?
At about 8am the sun gets up closely followed by the industrious Miranda. After a cup of tea she is off for a run or swim. An hour later Sally surfaces, followed by the lazy and now feeling guilty for sleeping so long, Tony and Debs.
Over breakfast Miranda returns and lunch or brunch is taken, depending on the time and food consumed.
The pool is visited by everyone with books and sleepy dozing by the water. Some siesta in their rooms, or in the lounge, others slip in and out of the pool.
Mid-afternoon activity girl Miranda heads off to beach sometimes accompanied by Tony. After a short walk it is into the water to play spot the nice topless sunbather. When you get out there is no need for a towel as the sun and warm air dries you quickly. They retire to a bar on the beach for a beer and try and erase the horrible images they saw while playing spot the nice topless sunbather. A promise is made that they will never inflict that sort if imagery on the world. Ever.
The house starts to stir again at about 6pm as the heat lessens. The bar opens and the sedate movement in the house turns into a stampede to place orders for ice cold beers, cava and GnT's.
To add to the pub flavour the Dompost quiz is attempted and there is either the elation of an 8+ out of 10 or a sad disbelieving additional drink if there is a score of 6 or less. A lot of consolation drinks are had.
When the chippies run out the crew staggers off to a restaurant for dinner and at least a litre of sangria. Shops are looked at, ice creams are consumed and the rabble moves home to sleep.
With subtle variations repeat 14 times.
Welcome to our two weeks in Nerja.
