Today I went to a Schloss! Translation: a Chateau
Mrs.Schalow and I went to Brühl, a neighboring city where the 17th century chateau is. We got a personal tour through the castle like residence that once housed elite Germans. It was so beautiful and elegant. Much of the original furniture in the chateau is no longer there, since the guy who once lived there was in so much debt after his death that they sold all his belongings. But surprisingly the original structure of the building is intact even after experiences 2 wars with bomb raids.
Today was the first day of rain :( Back home, Tacoma is still going 52 days strong of no rain! Hopefully Sofia will be rain free when I get there..
The rain doesn't keep a girl from shopping, however! Mrs. Schalow and I did some window shopping in Brühl. We also visited the neighbor, Mrs. Ursula at work in the city. She works in the cutest little shop.
Before going home, we stopped and picked up pizza! My first exposure to real European pizza & it was delicious!
I got to Skype for a bit with mom & then papa, which was comforting. I love the fact that I am not home sick. I like to see it as if the world is my home, and where ever I go, there are people that care for me, just like in Tacoma. So I am fine with being off, else where in the world :)
Bed now! Gute Nacht
Au Revoir moi! Xoxo.
