So even though I'm in London this morning I'm blogging about Hadrian's wall. We were so exhausted and late yesterday that I couldn't blog at all. So we had another busy day today. After the three ish hour drive from lochness to Stirling we toured the Stirling castle. It was amazing you could see it from so far away. We went on a tour of it and then toured around the rest on our own. It had an amazing recreated tapestry done by 6 people over a 14 year period. They were nice. I guess I'm just not a tapestry fan. This morning we were not locked in, so after a hearty breakfast that consisted of fruit, eggs, meat, pancakes, yoghurt and oatcakes we were on our way. First stop was a Loch Ness gift shop to kill a few minutes before the Urquhart Castle. The castle was right in the middle of Lochness. So after being released from confinement at finavon castle, we went and took in dunatar castle. It is a big beautiful ruined castle on the top of a promontory with cliffs on all sides. It was wonderful. We then went to drum castle. It looked like a castle but only the tower portion of the castle was old and defensive. The rest was test was a 17th century mansion. So to day has not started great. We are currently locked in the castle awaiting rescue. The land lady locked the door when she left this morning before we are up. We are now awaiting rescue by one of her friends.
