Good morning Cape Town. Took a stroll down to the V & A waterfront for coffee this morning and had a wander around the shops. It's a really beautiful waterfront and reminds us a little of Darling Harbor. The people have been really friendly here which I has surprised me. I think I assumed that, due to the high crime rate, the people would be rude and arrogant, but not so. We have both found it so hard not to imitate the accent when we are talking to the loc...

We're here and settled into our home for the next week and after trying to pay the taxi driver double the cab fare you could say we are off to a good start. Some major time with the pillow is in order. We saw the most stunning sunset on the flight from jo'burg to Cape Town so we are putting our order in for some more of those please and thank you. Oh and this rain could stop as well. Not too much to ask is it. Ok ... Sleep !!

Well that was just the longest 14 hours of our lives. Finally arrived at Johannesburg airport. My highlight so far was the fire arms / weapons check in counter at the terminal. WHERE THE HELL AM I!!! We got so lost in the terminal trying to find where we needed to go to get our connecting flight and ended up following a couple of different groups of people until we find the right ones so we are filled with confidence that we will be able to get ourselves around ...
