Oh my god! we have walked so much! that of course is inbetween getting lost on the freeway countless times. We've just discovered we've raked up all these toll charges that we were unaware of and are pretty pissed about them.
So much time has passed since we were last at Airie Beach and it's hard to fill in the gaps. I've been surfing a couple of times and am loving it despite the bruises. The campervan has conked out once so far. Thanks auto barn. But we got a new battery installed today so all should be fine. It was during the middle of a thunder storm in byron bay, we were just getting ready for a night out and were venturing to get some much desired fish and chips when after a visit to the ladies loos our van decided to start up all by itself!!!! Being girls we didn't know what the heck was going on so Ellen says "Alright, everyone out of the car. Get away from it." as though it were about to blow. Me and Hannah stood in the doorway opposite and all the time my heart was pounding thinking oh god! it's gonna blow! called for roadside assistance who were very helpful and just pointed at the van and said...yeah, that's your problem...you need to get it fixed. And there we were thinking, well that's what we called you out for wasn't it?!!!!
We haven't really done much in Sydney...lots of walking...lots of getting lost...it took us two hours (!!) to find our bus stop last night. We went to the opera house last night for a flamenco show. It was pretty damn good!
Still working on the tans. We're gonna go to Bondi beach sometime this week.
Other than that we've had one day of shopping and that's about it. Lot's to do!!!!
I've bought a guitar so am blessing the girls ears with the sound of my appalling skills and we've bought a jack nicholson box set so are going to watch the shining on our 7 inch dvd player to celebrate halloween in style.
It's been the little things that count this week. Like finding a toilet that has both soap and hand towels. In fact finding a toilet with soap is just a blessing alone.
Has anyone ever been to an imax cinema? We went earlier this week to watch a film in 3D. It's a truly amazing experience. It makes you feel like you are truly there. The film we watched was called the haunted castle and as it started you thought "this isn't really that 3D" you immediately shut up when the branches of a tree come startlingly lifelike towards your face. It had me flinching many times!
I can't believe how many flies are here in Sydney. They're quite brash too and love flying in holes and landing quite literally on your eyeballs.
For anyone who likes neighbours we saw Karl Kennedy the other night.
Please can anyone fill us in on the Cindy Beale storyline? Hehe!
Neighbours is wierd over here, it's very serious and almost like CSI
Speak later!
