Believe it or not I'm going to cover all 2 and half months in Australia in one blog because I didn't actually travel around like Ben and Rich did. When me and Ben arrived from Bangkok, he connected immediately to Brisbane to spend Christmas whith family he has there, and I went to Syndey where all my family is. I stayed at my Grauntie and Gruncle's place in a suburb called Killara in the North of Syndey. I mean there isn't much to do around there but it was good spending time with them as well as my Aunt and Uncle and cousins who live nearby. During my life I have usually travelled to Oz once every couple of years or so, but only for a week or 2 each time. So I hardly get to see any of my family, so it was good to see them on a more regular basis for the time I was in Syndey. After a week in Killara I moved to Manly which is a suburb on the Southern end of the North shore and famous for it's beaches. It was a pretty sweet place to stay not only because it was lively and full of young people and a surfing haven, but I was staying with an old uni friend of my Mum's from when she lived here and it was the sweetest pad! It's a modern luxury condo overlooking the water and has huge balcony, and better yet, a massive hot tub which can fit like 20 people not kidding. I had a fair few guests in that thing when she was away haha. Plus I forgot to mention my eldest cousin kindly lent me her car for me to get around in whilst I was here which was pretty cool. So at new years the third Musketeer came out Jarf, Rich sorry, and Ben came down from Brisbane and we spent new years under the Harbour Bridge watching the fireworks with our old travelling friend Vicky, from all the way back in Kho Phangan, and some of her friends and a crate of Tooheys. The fireworks were pretty badass of course I'm sure the guys appreciated them having never been to Oz before. The next day we went to Bondi Beach and I managed to get myself on the Channel 10 news which was hillarious, just chatting about what we had done for new years. That was my 7 seconds of fame. So after new years Ben and Rich hung around in Manly with me for a couple of days before heading off on their big trip around Australia. You'll have to get one of them to fill you in on what they did although I believe Ben has ditched his blog unfortunately!! Anyway so I managed to find a job in a nice bar right in front of Manly Beach which was cool. I worked with some awesome people, Brazilians mainly and although the managers had it in for me, which was wierd cuz they were cute as hell haha (both girls), I enjoyed working there a lot (even though I wouldn't usually get back till 4/5 each night!). I mainly worked weekends which gave me the week to see my family and catch up with friends I have in Syndey as well as people I had met in South East Asia who had moved onto Oz like us. I also got into my surfing in my spare time which was sweet, having borrowed a surf board from a friend and put roof racks on the car to get it to the beaches. I mean I won't be turning pro any time soon but I think I got half decent at it and so I hope I can carry it on a bit more on the rest of my travels. So ye I mean that's pretty much what I did for 2 months, worked, surfed, chilled at the beach and caught up with friends and family. Can't complain. Rich and Ben came back a couple of days before we all left for Fiji at the end of Feb. Of course I was rearing to go but they looked as if they'd been knackered out by the travelling so hopefully fiji will offer some relaxation, not that I need anymore. We'll see.
