I did email a message re security situation foreign office advice is still strongly against going espeically to the North and Karokorum Highway/tribal areas. Did not sound good.

Thanks for the latest blog post - the picture of Dave on the sign looks remarkably like he is a construction worker on a building site who has just realised his JCB has gone!! Let us know your plans and timeframes for the next leg of your epic journey - I have a sneaky suspicion that this is only one of many! xxx

Glad everything - with the exception of Helga - seems to going fine. Anyway, there can't be much more to go wrong with her can there? I'm not sure I would fancy riding without lights on some of the roads you have shown. Colin popped in yesterday, they have uncovered a warehouse down by the Thames in Gravesend that is absolutely choc-a-bloc full of wine; someone has been a naughty boy and Colin needed to have a word with him/them. Lots of love and take care ; thanks for the photos and videos.

heya!
looks like you're having a good time, i am missing you a lot, i have no sisters left anymore, you've all deserted me! gah!
thanks daves mum for congratulating me on my results
i've got all my suit and stuff for 6th form now, including high heels! which i'm actually getting used to wearing, i look a bit too old for my liking, but ahh well, all part of growing up i suppose
faz went off with her friends on their 18-30s thing, which should be interesting for her, knowing what her and her friends are like they're all gonna come back hating each other.
the views and everything look immense, do you stop much when you're actually on the bike? have you met many people out there, doing the same sort of thing as you?
hope to hear from you soon, missing you loads, it's been so long since i saw you last!
lots of love

Ciao Fish Face and Dave ....
I think I can understand from some of the photos why riding the bike at night would be a tad interesting !
Doris is chuffed you named the bike after her [ her middle name is Helga ] [...... I am so resisting a joke here ..... resisted !]
As my only reason for visiting India would be to persue my Doctoral research into regional variations in the Onion Bhaji I am a bit disappointed you have NOT mentioned any yet. Please rectify !
Actaully that's not quite true: notwithstanding my first choice -Lhasa in Tibet [ luckily also on the Nile ] ... I'd also have to got to Dharamsala - to see the REAL power behing the great Fried Egg in the Sky [ your dad will disagree ] ... aka the Dalai Lama.
Your dad muttered something about this being an option for you: this would make sense as according to wikitravel its 6 hours by bus from Amri thingy - so about a day on Helga ? Does this NOT appeal ???? I mean Tibetan culture is so off the wall in a unique way that I'd have thought it would be right up your street [Tasha that is .. can't speak for Mr Dave ] .... and short of actually visiting Tibet the closest you'll ever get.
If you do get there - I will be really jealous - and expect loads of photos. AND you can bring me back a monk's robe in Orange [ or purple ]
An ex workmate of mine "imported" a bride form Tibet - cost him several chickens and a goat. He had a photo of the exchange. From what we heard it was a good deal ..... for him. We all thought she'd should have chosen the goat. According to her husband she made the best dry roasted peanuts in Whitstable !
Hugs !!

Thanks for the message and the e-mail.
Amritsar is a bit like east Gravesend isn't it (or is Gravesend West Amritsar) ?
Do you ever actually stop to look at things other than when the Bike breaks down?
Thought you were thinking of going to see the dalai lama? Not that far from where you are now is it? If you do not turn up now he will be pissed, can be a dangerous man if he is angry, have you not seen all those Kung foo films?

Just sitting listening to some of Songs From The Crystal Cave by everyone's favourite folk-singing arse-kicking buddhist Steven Seagal, and thought of you 2. Hope everything's going fine. I go away for about 5 days for non-stop filming, so that should be interesting and hopefully fun as well. Get in touch through email!!
Take care mates and safe travelling!
