Tasha's Travels
Hi Everyone
I have had the most amazing 4 days in Noosa, its been fantastic! We have been satying with CLaires family which has been so lovely, not a gross hostal but a lovely home with lovely people- its been total bliss, amazing food and wine as well! We arrived Saturday and went round Noosa which is stunning, its so lush and pretty with amazing beaches and lots of cafes and restaurants and bars- bliss! Then we went for a drink at the surf club before being taken out to this amazing restaurant and finishing the night with our friends in Irish Murphy's for more wine!
Sunday we went to the Glasshouse Mountains and took a walk through the bush and saw lots of bush turkey and wallaby's and the hugest tree's and vines. We then had a picnic overlooking the mountains and the valley whichw as stunning, before heading home for a BBQ- delicious!
Monday we headed to Hervey Bay for whale watching- Claires relatives had kindly arranged all the details for us and we weren't slumming it on a backpackers tour! Apart from being the only 2 under 70yrs old, which we found hysterical- especially when the driver reminded us to stretch and do exercises on the boat so our hips wouldn't seize up- the trip was amazing! We got fed every half our and had this delcious bouffet before we even got on the boat.
The boat was specially desgined to watch whales so we could view them from under the water and from every angle and it was so good- we got so many whales coming up to the boat- they were enormous and they kept leaping up and waving their fins and they came so close we could have touched them- it was just brilliant- so i got a bit snap happy with that!!! Awesome.
Tuesday claire and i decided to finally attack the tans and we cooked ourselves on Noosa Head beach and then back on Peregian Beach- both white sand and turquoise sea and boiling hot- so i'm not tanfastic just yet but getting there!
Today we decided it was time to surf- we booked ourselves onto a 2hr30min lesson in a group of about 8 people and i am completely addicted to it! I was expecting myself to be totally hopeless and fall off and drown and hit my head and all of that- but i couldn't believe it- i stood up on my first attempt and rode the wave all the way into the beach- it was awesome! So the rest of the lesson i was cruising and on a total high! My instructor kept trying to get me to do a 180 twist where you leap round and lead with your other foot which i attempted and actually managed for a brief moment before falling off- but it was soooooooooooooo good!! Definitely a surf addict now!!
Tomorrow we're off to Hevery Bay to do the Fraser Island day trip the following day- really gutted to leave Noosa, its like a holiday resort and just stunning, but also really excited about moving on and up!!
Will get pics on asap ( sadly no photo's of surfing- and i have also broken my camera!!! nightmare!!)
