Tasha's Travels
Hello
Well we left rainy Sydney to head up the coast for some sunshine in Byron Bay........ we arrived to a terrential down pour, black skies and a vrey dead and quiet Byron Bay- not what we were expecting!
Byron Bay is a really chilled out surfy town full of aging hippies, skater dudes and surfers that do minimal work and plenty of chilling out in the sun! No one seems to bother with shoes and even in the cold and rain everyone was as friendly as ever.
We sheltered in the hostel for as long as i could take before cabin fever kicked in and then we decided to go for a walk along the beach to the furtherst point East along the coast, and fortunately for us the sun came out and it was fantastic! The Sea was packed with the most amazing surfers- i can not wait to give it a go! The beach was stunning and so was the view of the sea- amazing! Unfortunately we got completely drenched on the way back to the hostel- but it was well worth it!!
In the evening we headed out to the infamous Cheeky Monkeys for the ultimate backpackers boozey night which certainly delivered- brilliant night!
We decided to try and leave the rain behind and head to Surfers Paradise- unfortunately we woke up to the most amazing sunshine in Byron Bay- gutted- but i'm sure its only going to get better as we mov on up the coast!
