HAPPY CHRISTMAS TARA.
Hope you're having a good Christmas Day. We've had a lovely day all the usual presents, eating too much and walk along the sea front to blow the cobwebs away. Am going to settle down in front of the box with a glass of wine and chill. Will raise a glass to you. Pleased to hear you've recovered and are enjoying yourself. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi Tara, Have just been looking at your photos of your trip so far - how fab!! So glad I saw your Mum and she gave me the details of this web site. You're going to have one hell of an experience that's for sure! Its Christmas Eve and the boys are wrapping presents - but judging from the racket coming from Matt's room, they're making a pig's ear of it, so that should be interesting tomorrow morning opening them! The boys are really growing up now - Matt is 6 ft 1 ins with a very deep voice, James is my height and Ollie isn't far behind. They've turned into typical 'lazy' teenagers and its hard to get them out of bed in the mornings! Wonder if they'll ever embark on a trip like yours - my money's on Ollie to do anything like that... Well, just want to wish you a very Happy Christmas wherever you are and whatever you're doing - hopefully you'll be fighting fit now and really hope you can avoid anymore horrible bugs. HAPPY CHRISTMAS TARA!!!! love Karen, Nick, Matt, James, Oliver xxxxx

Hey trouble,
Just got a Christmas card from D & J (thanks guys!) with your info in it - so I guess I missed the fact you were going. Thats the trouble with being away. I knew it was due sometime soon but lifes been mad. Anyhow you wont have got your Christmas card then - Ill send you an eMail with an update and all that. Life here is cool - pretty much as your trip seems to be too! I wont bore you with the views from our bedroom, but they (almost?) compare with your tent piccys.
Re: your earlier posting, youre so right to avoid the water problems at times - trust me on this one, we had to take Helens mum to A&E after problems in Africa, so keep safe even if they do call you a wuss.
Now wherere you going to be for the 25th ? Were trying to handle the idea of one away from the UK and I guess you may be feeling the same. Hope you have fun wherever and (dont) party (too) hard!
Keep well
Tony & Helen

Great photos!!! We're really jealous!!! I want to print some off but can't decide which ones as there are too many to choose from.
I'll email as well - but let me know if you have any problems - I think you need to delete old emails as they clog up the system (Abie has hotmail as well and has had similar problems - so I don't think it's just Peru).
I ordered some cards and stuff from the Tearcraft catalogue that a friend at church was doing - it supports partnership projects in underdeveloped countries by importing crafts etc - so I ordered myself a miniature nativity scene from Peru - so that we can think about the where you are and the people there - it's only about 3 inches tall and is shaped like an egg with little tiny figures inside.
Keep having fun! We miss you loads!
lots of love, Anne

Grrrrr.... peruvian computors don't seem to like my email/hotmail!!! So I have decided to let you know i'm alive and well in Chivay - high in the andes near to the colca canyon (bigger and deeper than the grand canyon!) There is a festival on at the moment which looks likey to continyue til the wee small hours - we all have to get a good nights sleep in because we will be up at 5am to get to the canyon for the condors! It's quite chilly here and good preparation for the trek next week! I have bought 2 local jumpers - only 30 adn 50 soles each - 6 and 10 pounds - I didn't like haggling so paid the normal prices - still cheap though! I hope you're all well - I'm not being rude by not emailing - I just can't figure out if there is a virus on my email or just the stupid pc's here!!! Anyhow i'll be off now......Keep in touch somehow! love ya xxxxx.

Hope the weather is better there than it is here! Wet and cold most of the time! Had a great Guides last night - loads of parents and friends came to have coffee and do Christmas crafts. Made about £50 for the Christmas shelter - so that was good. No Guides now till the New Year Party - with a South American theme!!! so we can celebrate the new year with you in spirit! Going for our end of term planning meeting over a curry in the pub next Thurs - won't be the same without you.
Looking forward to seeing some more photos soon!
lots of love,
Anne and the Guides
