On our way to Nasca we stopped at Ica at the Huacachina Oasis. The dunes were massive! Bigger than ones I've seen in U.A.E and Egypt! Today the main Plaza de Armas was closed off by police as there were protests. We took at tour around San Francisco Church and Catacombs which was interesting. They had nativity dolls with real human hair and bones of over 25,000 people under the church. The mass grave was a bit freaky. Met our tour group! There are 7 of us and our tour leader Hernan who is from Cuzco. So far I'm the only girl, 2 Aussies, 1 Scot and us. Slept well after a long flight and took a walk round the local area up to Plaza de Armas and saw the Cathedrale, the Archbishops Palace, the City Hall and the Presidents Palace! Lima is: - hotter than we thought - we are very tall here - people are very friendly - not much poverty - safer than we thought So pleasantly surprised!
