Third night in was spent at a local Vietnamese honestly in the Mekong delta.. What an experience!! It was such a long day, we started out by having breakfast at a local restaurant called KOTO (know one teach one). It's a place sponsored by the Intrepid foundation.. They take kids off the street and give them jobs and somewhere to live. It's awesome! After that we made our way to the Cu Chi tunnels which was an unreal experience! Some of the original tunnels during the Vietnamese war are still there. After that we drove another couple of hours to our homestay where we enjoyed local 'elephant ear fish' and ginseng tea. This morning we were up early again to visit the floating market and some traditional villages where the locals make their produce.. Anything from fish sauce and snake wine to coconut toffee and conical hats! Back in HCMC tonight before our train trip up the coast to Nha Trang.
