Designed By James Essex In 1748
James Essex designed this bridge in 1748. Some originally thought it had been built by Newton, but he wasn't alive at the time of its creation. The bridge was build over the River Cam to connect the dormitory to the rest of campus. Gondollas (known as punts) are rowed by the students in order to show people as much of the river as possible.
