Hi all, this will be a newsy update, have been busy having fun. Still in Tawas RV., we have started to grow grass under the motorhome, been here so long.
Our new friends, Billy & Vickie had to head on home. We had a good time with them, hope to see them again.
We took a Paddle Boat trip down the Au Sable River, a nice peaceful ride, beautiful scenery. We felt very "Southern", all I needed was my big hat and a fan to complete the look.
Took a drive to the Lumberman's Monument in Oscoda, not too far from our casa. A great view of the Au Sable River, and surrounding area.
Had the chicks groomed, they were starting to look like strays. While Suzie and Lucy were being tortured, Abbie spent the day with us at Lake Huron enjoying the view. She is still rubbing that in their faces that we like her the best!!!
Took a drive around Bush Lake & Skidway, Dale's old stomping grounds. Took pictures of his old homestead (what's left of it) and some pictures of his grandparents home and the surrounding area. It was sad to see how the area had changed and not for the better. Lots of the shops were closed.
Went out for a fun dinner with Kate & Bernie , Dale's best bud from high school. It is fun to see the two of them together, comparing "stories" of their youth!
Dale's son, Dale and his wife Michelle came for a visit. They brought some huge steaks, corn and spuds which we devoured!
We celebrated Lucy's #8 with them, cake and ice cream of course.
We took a canoe ride with them down the Rifle River in Sterling, MI. The river was very low, which made it a challenge. Such a challenge, that it caused us to tip over four times. We couldn't help but laugh, but it did keep us cool!!!! Maybe we should give up canoeing and take up basket weaving.
Today we took all the girls to Lake Huron for the day. They all went in the water with Mommie and even Daddy got wet. Hard to believe that Shih Tzu's are such water dogs. It was a fun time for all.
Well, that is all for now. Been a busy week or so, don't want to miss anything here. Will keep you posted on all our adventures and mishaps. We do like to get our silly on!!!
Love you all and miss you too, The Olympic Canoers and their furry kids.
