Second day was day of rest. We did go out to Apolonia for some groceries but basically used the day to adjust for the travel fatigue.

First day of visit to Marie Dejean in Vale do Lobo. Awoke to cool bright sunny morning with cloudless blue sky. Did sleep in after 22 hour trip from Seattle, flying British Airline First Class overnight to Heathrow, then on to Lisbon in Business Class. Flight to Faro was Economy (25 minutes). This is the final entry for my extended World Cruise and it is with sadness that this exciting adventure is ending. Marie drove me to Brussels Airport for my United Airlines flight home through Chicago. Passport control, security checks and US Customs are daunting but I made it. Upon arrival at Seattle, I was met by the limo driver as Seabourn's final gesture and was driven home. The keys worked and the trip was over.

Began packing for flight home tomorrow. Bright sunshine this morning was uplifting. Marie introduced me to another very nice restaurant 'Het Spaan Ket' in an area of fish ponds. Then she took me to an area named Bagash. Light supper in her home, Marie served five soft cheeses and a salad.

We spent the morning today recovering from the long drive yesterday but did manage to get out for another great lunch. This time we went into Leuven to a very attractive restaurant named Voltaire. It seemed to cater to college professor types. Occasional rain showers occurred surrounding our solarium dining room. Great fun.
