Well let me tell you a little story of how a little priarie girl was Culture shocked in a place called Wellington (aka Scarington).
We left Rotorua in the morning and travelled all day to a place called Wellington. The bus ride was my favorite part i got to see alot of NZ and it was amazing beautiful.
The thing about "winging it" on a trip is that sometimes theres no places to stay. Which was what happened to us last night. This was the only place left in pretty much the entire Wellington that we could stay...it was called "Lodge in the city".
We get off the bus and its looking amazing. We find our hostle. And there were little prositots hanging outside our hostle and it was sketchy. So we go up to our room, it stinks and our bunk bed is like 6'2 high. It's my turn to sleep on the top bunk. Not to mention the light hanging from it is right above the ladder.
So we go and get some supper and its honeslty the first time i've ever felt scared. haha it hink if we had time to explore the city in the day and had a different hostle it would of been a different situation. I was scared.
We found a burger king, ate and then went and locked ourselves in the hostle. We took the mattresses off the bunk beds and slept on the ground because it was scary haha. And to think Wellington is where i was considering moving haha im sure its not that bad just the situation that we came into was bad.
So after being scared poopless in Scarington, we caught the Ferry to the South Island. And the south Island is absoultey beeeeautiful here. The sun is out, our motel room is awesome...in an awesome location, above some shops on the main street. We rented a car so we can do more things. I'm still not confident on driving on the wrong side of the road but that should improve becasue we have the car until Wednesday.
I'm loving it here though...for real.
Well...time to go and terrorize NZ driving!
Miss you guys <3

Mom That is exactly what I was worried about. Stay safe both of you.
