Well , although i've been in Australia for nearly two weeks this is my first entry, and it's going to be a long one as i've got to cover everything that we've done since day one.
I'll skim over the boring stuff like the flight as it was soooooo long, not much to report as we didn't really have much to do apart from watch the films, and stop my peanuts being stolen by a dodgy little scousercalled claire sitting next to me the whole way ;-),arrived in Hong Kong and went straight to the gate for the next 9 hour flight to Sydney.Touched down in Sydney at around 7.15 a.m. on the Friday 22nd Jan and by the time we got through immigration and customs, which by the way is not as scarey as the t.v. makes out, it was around 8 a.m, We were picked up and taken to our hostel for the next ten days.
The hostel was called Surfside in coogee, coogee itself is beautiful but surfside was anything but, our first room was small and had five bunk beds rammed inthere and it was a sweat box and had some miserable french people in it to boot.We ended up on the beach for a few hours and like me i burnt straight away, that night we sat on the beach with a few beers and watched a huge thunder/lightning storm far out at sea which i must say did look pretty cool, but then the police told us we had to move on as there was no drinking allowed on the beach after dark, but they were pretty sound they let us have one more then said to go, can't really imagine the old bill at home being like that.
The Saturday Me, Simon, Tom, Conrad, Claire,Natalie, and Claire got the bus into to town and got off at circular quay, and just started walking towards the water, as we rounded the corner the harbour bridge came into view and all the girls got very excited and started jumping around natalie even got abit teary, bless her. So we done the usual tourist thing and done loads of pics in front of it and even some attempted jumping shots which of some worked but most didn't. After that we walked abit further then the opera house popped up the girls did the same again, and i must say i was abit taken aback after many yearsseeing it on the tv and in films, and as usual the tourist instinct took over!!!
When we got back we got dinner out the way and proceed to drink quite alot, started in the girls room, but a couple of the girls were really jetlagged so we took the party upstairs to the balcony outside my room, where the ipod speakers came out, so we had beer tunes and goon (cheap boxed wine, which ain't that bad but gets you wrecked), this was also the night we saw our first big spider, it was a 'HUNTSMAN' which apparently isn't deadly still packs quite a nasty punch in its bite, so me being the gooned idiot i was, i decided to put my finger close to it to get comparison in toms photo. The Sunday morning after the night before everyone was feeling a little bit worse for wear after allthe goon, everyone done their own thing, me, Simon, and tom went for a walk around Coogee and walked round to the next bay, then all came back and decided to do somr more drinking on the balcony which also led to card games being reinvented, such as HEADBUTT SNAP, Tom and nat started and Nat won, so i thought i'd challenge her for the title, we were two cards in when the snap came and me being fairly gooned smashed my head onto a concrete floorto win the game but also cut my head open.Apparently i head butted the floor so hard it woke one of the other girls up who was in a room directly below us, but i just found it funny as i was quite drunk so luckily didn't feel anything and after we cleaned up my head everyone went to the beach, someone brought a football along and after all the beer and goon we started playing dodge ball and stupid games, eventually just got drunk on the beach but luckily no police so we drank till the early hours andfinally went to bed at god knows what time ready for the start of Ozintro on the Monday morning!!!!!!
