And I can't believe Ireland is almost over......I have LOVED traveling through the different cities and experiencing the culture. The Irish people have been very nice with the exception of a couple people in Killarney but I say it was b/c "the entire town was drunk" There was this really big game going on and the entire town had showed up to the pubs to watch it. It was like in the US when the Super Bowl is on....it was a weird game too...I never figured out what it was called....it was a mixture of different sports...the field was like a football field...the guys would sometimes kick the ball to other players, sometimes they would pick it up and run....sometimes they would bounce it and then to score they had to kick it bewteen the goal posts....whatever it was the Irish people loved it.
We started off our trip in Dublin where we toured the Guinness factory and I got to have my first true Guinness in a 360 degree room with windows over looking the entire city of Dublin. We also went to the Temple Bar area and listened to Irish music while drinking some Guinness.....I think that's the most Irish I've ever felt :) haha Over all I like Dublin....I'm not a big city girl so it was great but I must say I loved Galway a lot more which was the next city we went to. Galway had probably the coolest hostel I've ever stayed in....Kinlay House...Kristin and I shared a room with one guy from Germany (Steve) and three other guys from Australia...we had a great time hanging out with them which made me realize the importance of the people you meet along the way. Kristin and I were talking about how if we really really like a city it's usually b/c we have met someone really cool there and hung out a lot....which is probably why I loved Galwy so much. We toured the cliffs of Moher one day which was great but at the same time I hate tours so it was a little annoying. I hate being told when to get off the bus, how long I can stay and where to eat. No sense of adventure.
After Galway we went to Killarney and did the "Ring of Kerry" which was amazing! Very beautiful....you will see pictures...there is something about mountains, ocean and cliffs that I'm obsessed with! After Killarney we headed to Cork which is where we have been for the past two nights.....cork is a lot like Dublin being that isn't a large city however I do like it a bit more then Dublin. Yesterday we took a bus to Blarney Castle and "kissed the Blarney stone" good times.....gotta love putting your mouth the same place millions of others have.....and where it's rumored that the locals urinate :) but I couldn't go to the castle and not do it haha
Tonight we leave for Wexford which is basically just and over night stop before we cross over into Wales/England and head for Bath and London to meet up with "The Andy's" as Kristin and I call them. Which are two guys that Kristin and I met about 5 years ago while we were traveling through New Zealand....we traveled with them in NZ for a couple weeks, had a great time and haven't lost contact...should be a good time!
