Day 127 - Tuesday 6th July
Rented awesome retro bikes with baskets, no gears and a strange back-peddle brake system and cycled out along the stunning lush, tropical local road. We ended up at an animal reserve we'd heard off and it was one of the best things I've done. We got to hold and play with howler monkeys and even better got to do the same with sloths. I LOVE sloths. They are possibly the most useless animals on the planet. So dopey and docile they do everything with an innate wide grin on their faces. They were amazing. My new favourite animal...
A peddle further down the road and we came to National Geographic's 2nd Best Beach in the World. And it was stunning. No much more to say...on the way home we rented surf boards and surfed out the surprisingly rough waves of the Caribbean...
Day 128 - Wednesday 7th July
HUGE pancake breakfast followed by Spain beating Germany in Mango bar. The londoner who runs the place had set up a fantastic barbecue just in time before a massive tropical rainstorm came in. We took a beautiful bus ride down to San Jose late afternoon and spent the evening confused and disgusted by the number of filthy old Americans roaming the streets with beautiful Costa Rican prostitutes...
