What a night. The journey here was ok and I definitely think I'll travel with Virgin Atlantic again. The annoying part was having to queue for two hours in immigration. When I finally got out of the airport there was no taxis available. A shuttle driver spotted me and two other women from my flight and prompted us to go with him. We had no choice. The other women were nice, very chatty and polite. They are getting the same flight back to London too.
Anyway the shuttle dropped me at 7th and 17th.... My hotel is on 3rd and 17th..... So I had to walk with my case for a few blocks on a busy Friday night.
Then there was check in. Everything went smoothly until it came to opening the room door...... It didn't! Maintenance had to come and let me in, and ultimately meant I was room bound for the night. The guy on the front desk offered to move me in the am. So I stayed in, drinking cans of bud, eating cheese straws while watching king of queens. I was very jetlagged but still woke at 4am as I'm still on England time.
This morning a new guy on the desk changed my key and everything works fine. I asked to Stay in the same room, so hopefully everything will be fine. I'm just worried that they still want me to move rooms and all my stuff is in there.
Their wifi doesn't work either, luckily there's a cute lil fair-trade coffee shop over the street that has wifi for my blogging and facebook needs.
I'm currently writing this on the 7 train to citi field. Will upload it later.
Looking forward to the mets game.
Let's go mets!
