Hello again
Well here I go again with what I have been up to. During my last diary entry I have traveled around a lot of the South Island. I have seen in the North part how gorgeous New Zealand was and I didn’t think it could get any better. However I have now traveled to 2 of my most favorite parts of New Zealand and they are awesome. They are Franz Joseph and Queenstown. I have been traveling about on a magic bus between places and it’s also where I have got to meet some people who I have been hanging about with which is a good laugh and it makes the journeys between towns less boring, so some of the pics are of random stops.
Franz Joseph
This town is amazing, the reason I came was to climb an ice glacier which has been there for thousands of years from the ice age (basically a glacier is a huge huge mountain of ice between two mountain valleys and stretches for miles). This is massive and awesome to see. To be fair it is really the only main thing to do there but that is enough. You get taken up to the glacier front and then 8 hours of trekking later your only really still only experiencing a bit of what the glacier is like. I should have taken sun screen really as by the end of the day my face was burnt lol (nothing new there then). I didn’t really think I would get burnt on a cloudy day but I was informed after that the bit missing from the ozone layer is the part above New Zealand so yeahhh UV rays in the face for me.
Queenstown
Unbelievably gorgeous, the scenery is awesome and probably by far the best place in New Zealand I have been, and it is also a bit of a party town. There are loads of stuff to do hear like bungi jumps to white water rafting but I swapped all of that to go on a little cart down a hill yeahh, more fun on a kids cart, what more can I ask for. To be fair it is a pretty cool and you get speeding down this track pretty quick, (it called a luge, bit like a sledding track). After this a round of golf for me, and what better place to play 18 holes than at crazy golf yeahhh, I don’t need any of that adult rubbish. At night mostly drink and drink at one of the numerous bars about, I found this place that had cocktails called Teapots which are basically alcohol in a teapot, simple. Apart from all this I could go on about how nice it is here but I would just drone on about the scenery and I can’t actually put in words what it is like. It’s that breathtaking.
After these places it has really been seeing small towns which are not really that big and not much to do.
Dunedin
Well not much really to out here, mainly just a town like home but better looking. I went on a chocolate tour and that’s about it
Lake Takepo
A place with a lake and a tiny church, oh yeah and I went to the observatory and saw a comet called McNaught (umm interesting).
Christchurch.
This is where I leave New Zealand tomorrow to go to Oz (Melbourne), im meeting up with my mate John for a few weeks so it should be a good laugh. So as I leave New Zealand all I can say that is has been the most gorgeous place I have seen so far.
