Kia Ora all, thanks for all your messages! Still can't upload photos, the card reader isn't working.
Hi Nic!! Yeah I think so far Cape Reinga/Pahia has been the best bit, as well as the Black Water Rafting (did you do the Abyss or the Labyrinth?). Although I am so so sore today, I think I did something wrong... Have you done any bungy jumping/sky diving? We're spending an extra day in Wellington to check out the city, that's cool you've been there so long. I'm so jealous, wish we had more time! We're spending an extra night in Nelson as well, do we still end up there at the same time? We're hoping to do one of the Kaiteriteri kayaking things. Hope to see you there!
Hopefully we'll get to go out tonight--were planning to go out yesterday but I fell asleep at 9, I don't know how everyone does it, I'm so knackered! Drinks are so cheap though, 3 for $15 is such a deal.
The Black Water Rafting was brilliant! Our guides were a bit crazy, but it was good, a lot harder work than I thought! It took ages to get into our wetsuits, and the first thing we did was practice jumping backwards off a ledge into our tube; in the end it was higher than the rest, at about a metre or 2. Crawling around the caves was the hardest bit, as it was about knee deep in water and I was stumbling around on the rocks.
We were planning to do the Tongariro crossing today, but it's pouring with rain and so it's been cancelled :( bit of a bummer, but at least we got a sleep in today! Tomorrow we're heading off towards River Valley, an Adventure Lodge where you can do horse trekking, white water rafting, etc, and I'm really looking forward to that. After that we're spending a couple of nights in Wellington, the capital, to check it out and the Te Papa mueseum which is meant to be quite cool. Then we head down to the south island...
I think that's all so far...Talk to you soon
