I wanted to make the most of my last full day so I decided to walk to the beach. To get there I had to walk a long way around the river.
The first part of my walk was very interesting because the Red Bull Race was taking place in Porto. There were thousands of people lined up against the river. The planes had to quickly manoeuvre through obstacles then do a big loop and go back again. It was very impressive and cool to see.
Leaving the planes behind I walked under a big bridge, through a nature reserve and then reached the opening of the river to the ocean. I walked out to the end of the pier where it was very windy and the seagulls could barely fly. I continued my walk along the coast until I got to the longest beach where I stopped to read my book for a while.
Then I walked back to the city (6km away) along the one very straight road which leads to the centre of Porto. First I had to go through the city park which included the runway for the planes involved in the Red Bull Race.
Finally making it back to the city I walked to the big bridge and crossed over the top of it and found a great place to sit and watch the sunset over the city. After the sunset and reading my book I walked slowly back to the hostel.
I enjoyed my last packet of cous cous for a late dinner and went to bed, pretty exhausted, after talking to some Australian girls in the hostel.

Caryn What an exciting, busy day. Lots of impressive photos to make up for the previous day. You were lucky to see the Red Bull competition. Lovely sunset pictures. Glad you didn't bring the cous cous home! Xxx
