Having had a relaxed afternoon yesterday, we woke bright and early, returning again to Wonderful Ecuador to embark on a tour of the Amazon rainforest. Still sore from riding the day prior, we returned in the morning to Wonderful Ecuador to book in white water rafting for the afternoon, the idea being that, after the core and leg workout atop a horse, the arms may be feeling left out. Alas, it turns out that the rafting expedition was a morning only thing, and had departed just before our arrival. 40 hours later and we finally made it! Our taxi to the hostel cost us $2 and he helped wake the owner and let us in. Apparently I told the hostel that we would arrive yesterday at 2pm... oops. He understood though and showed us around. After a brief nap, we ventured into town to find an adventure agency and lunch. The only highlight of today was the hour long border crossing in the heat. Seriously, just gimme the two stamps and let me go!We made it into Guayaquil at 6.30pm, found a bus a direct bus leaving to Banos at midnight, and then hung around the food court at the Bus Terminal for hours. Pizza Hut and KFC were apparently our only options for dinner.
