Hiya. Pretty much did nothing today. We didn't get up til about 11.30, thought we needed the lie in. Thought we'd spend today just milling around doing nothing. We ended up walking a fair distance up the street near us called Sukhumvit Road. There's a brilliant shopping centre there called the Emporium. It's massive. Are you sitting comfortably? It's going to be a big entry today! Plan was to get up at 5 for being picked up at 6, but I woke at 3.30 and couldn't get back to sleep again. We were picked up at 6, then went in by other hotels to pick up other people doing the same tours as us. There were 3 from Dubai, a really obnoxious Japanese guy and his wife, a young married (I think) couple from Australia, a couple from Austria and 2 ladies from Chile. Quite multicultur...

Found out today that yesterday was the kings 60th year on the throne. Everyone loves him here, not like our royalty! There was fireworks at 8 o'clock, and everyone wears a yellow t-shirt, as that's the colour for royalty here. Today was an action packed day. We were picked up at 10 o'clock for a tour of the city. First entry from abroad. The flight was comfortable but very boring. Watched a film called the 3 Burials of Melquiades Estrada. Was alright I guess. It's far too hot for my liking. Humid everywhere you go. Had a nice meal outdoors. The crispy duck was nice. Sat at the hostel just now getting ready to watch the kick off of the World Cup. Here's where the fun begins.
