Having taken an 7 hour bus and 1 hr by boat we arrived in Langkawi at around 8pm. We checked into our hotel AB Motel on Chenang Beach and met with a guy we had met in Kuala Lumper called Riz. He is a Malaysian who was holidaying there for a few days also.
The next we spent on the beach and headed out for a meal in the evening. The following day after that we went on a island hopping cruise where we fed eagles, had our feet eaten by Catfish, got atatcked by monkeys and rounded the enentful day off by some sunbathing and a dip in the clear waters on a deserted Island, or so we thought!! We were in the sea with our bags on the beach covered by our towels when we noticed a Monkey trawling through our things. He picked up my towel and chucked it to one side, picked up Rachels towel and definatly disposed of that one (its pink!) then continued to riffel through my bag lkobbing out the things he didnt want before coming to my nice shiny camera! He looked at it, took it out of its case, saw it was nice and shiny and continued to leg up the beach! At this point me, Rach and Riz were all trying to run out of the water over rocks shouting and screaming after him. Riz managed to catch up to him and shout loud enough for him to think "b***** that" and drop the camera! Luckily.
We got back to our hotel that day to find our cat we had called Twist (due to his tail being twisted at the end) waiting for us. He befriended us the first day we arrived and had taken to sleeping on the bed whilst we were having our afternoon naps. He would wait for us everyday from the beach and in the evenings from our meals and if he wasnt anywhere to be seen he would soon hear us and coming running to the door.
On our last day we went to the beach to relax for a few hours for getting the boat back to the mainland and then enduring our first night bus back to Langkawi.
