This my 3rd day in Vang Vieng and I can't say that I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow to head back to Luang Prabang. There is very little here in the way of culture. However, if you are particularly fond of smelling mouldy vomit everytime you go in the bathroom I can recommend a delightful place called Malany Villas.

There is a nice chilled out vibe but it feels like the whole town was just made for tourists so it just consists of street after street of restaurants, internet cafes and shops catered to tubing merchandise! 3 days is definitely long enough here. There is a good little bar called FAT MONKEYS where a lot of westerners drink until the midnight curfew. The staff were really friendly and it has pool, beer pong, darts and they even gave us cards and jenga when we asked. We bumped in to so many people that we'd met in the previous week!!

We are going tubing today and expecting it to be a very chilled out experience in comparison to what tubing used to be like; all the bars along the river have just been burnt down!! It's so typical. If we'd got here just a week before there were still bars open but the government have ordered them all to the taken down. We're still looking forward to it... floating along the river in a rubber ring and catching some rays still sounds good to me!
