Hope you enjoyed your trip to Khampheng and weren't mobbed too much by small cute children! Looking forward to seeing some more photos and speaking to you this weekend. Sounds like it's a bit of a culture shock but a great challenge too. Aah how I remember the cols showers and non flushing toilets- wait until you get to Vietnam- you just get a hole in the ground and have to scoop away your own poo!!
Have you learnt any Thai yet? One to remember is sabai-dee cup (I think that means hello although could be Laotian) Also cup cum cup (thank you to men) and cup cum ca (thank you to women).
I'm currently enjoying my few weeks of civilisation before I head back to the African desert.

All looks quite civilised (excepting lavs) to me. Its also good character building stuff and a bit different from the best hotel in Surrey !! How is the Thai coming on ?
