So we started out this morning after a less than refreshing sleep.... A combination of snoring man, a guy who tried to tackle my suitcase in the night... Had he have known the size of it, he could have preempted the result of that challenge.... Very noisy hostel sleepers and the fact that every time a noise or disturbance happened, including my bed squeaking, I thought I was in the middle of a 7.4 richter earthquake... Bloody Christchurch, it's making me a nervous bloody wreck..... Since I got here I've been convinced il die in a wreckage of rubble.... Not helped by the fact that lots of buildings ate still unstable and cordoned off for safety and those buildings which are safe, are for sale.... What a sad tale of a pretty city... It's quiet, very few people was to stay here long term, most are here a night whilst waiting to fly out... Residents want to sell up and move... Pavements and roads are unwalkable, red zones still exist and some parts of the city are not able to be visited...coupled with the constant shaking, it's making it nigh on impossible to return the city to its former glory...
Off to Sydney..... I stepped off the plane... I am home! They must have known i was a local as customs was a breeze... No kp nuts incidents, our shoes were clean enough and we were good to go....until we found the "30minute" wait for the shuttle turn into over an hour and the interrogation from the travel concierge guy.... He wanted to know all about us, the ins and outs of our journey, why we were in oz... What we did at home... Ahem wrong job mate, customs is back there... You my friend organise onward journeys to persons already let into the country....security step down...
There is something about this country that makes me feel so happy..! I feel like I really could settle here, but the small matter of the otherside of the world from all my family and friends make that an unlikely event... Though with the technological advances since last time i was here it barely feels like I'm away...and the world feels a very small place.... It's wonderful!
A quick stroll around the harbour and seeing the bright lights and big city! Beautiful, dinner in the harbour and a fantastic ice cream which I don't think could ever be beaten... It tasted like forrero Roche! Woohoo!
The hostel we stayed in sydney harbour yha was amazing.... The best we have stayed in to date I think... We have a huge shower en suite.... Charge spaces within the lockers in the room.... Personal light and charge spaces by beds... So comfy.. Spacious... I'm in love....
Til tomorrow... Night night xxxxx
