Just a quick update campers from hot and sweaty Bangkok. Found a place today called Lumphini Park, famous for Thai synchronised aerobics, 1000 upon 1000s of them here in their masses taking part in huge outdoor sessions. Cept i found something more interesting, monitor lizards, 1000s of them, roaming the park. Great they were. Not mentioned in the guidde books, weird, 6 foot long creatures roaming randomly around the park. Thailand eh! Its much busier here...

I had a really moving day today, more so than i expected. I left Bangkok on the local bus service and headed up country towards Burma to a place called Kanchanaburi. Weather has cooled slightly, bit more cloudy. 2 hours on the bus and im in this little place that floats on the river, the Jolly Frog no less, a floating raft house in the reeds on the side of one of the most infamous rivers, the River Kwai!! Back to Bangkok briefly to do some banking, washing of clothes. Swapped mosquitos for tuk tuk drivers as the main annoyance, however second time round im staying further away from the Khao San Road so its quieter, more relaxed. Hello readers, sorry for the period of absence whilst i went AWOL in the jungle in Koh Pha-Ngan. Instead of heading to the Full Moon Party, which rained, i took a long-tail boat and headed to a deserted bay round the corner from the carnage. Jeez, am i still here? The air was thick with dirty mossies tonight and then the reason became apparent. I only nipped onto town to get some cash and the heavens opened. Obviously being from the uk I'm used to a bit of rain, this was something special. No sooner had I jumped off the local bus (Song Thow) when it came down. Even the Thais seemed amazed.
