Our last night in Mancora was amazing fun! Pirate night ... it consisted of dressing up using limited supplies (i did some clever cutting up of a sleeping mask for a eye patch) and also al you can drink rum for 20 soles (about 5 pounds i think) a few games and basically lots of fun! We needed the next day to recover, so just chilled out, wasnt to hot that day which was sorta a good thing! That night we got a bus to Trujillo and arrived at 8am the next day, which is quite reasonable for night buses (usually they arrive about 5am!)
From Tujillo we decided to go straight to near-by Huanchaco.. a smaller beach town, we are not big fans of the cities. The taxi driver of course took us the hotel of his choice not our.. but it was fine, and quite god value for money.. with free internet Wahooo, and i must say we have been making the most of it. Yesterday we didnt do alot .. if anything. There is a kitchen here so we cooked ourselves a cheap dinner (very tasty though) of tortilla wraps and fried vegetables.. yummy!!!
Today we did our historical stuff, visiting Chan Chan some very old Chimu mud houess.. well palace´s, very impressive (have ltos of problem with water corrosion though).. we also visting Huaca del Luna a nearby older site (i tihnk about 700 years older) where there is currently still lts of archeological excavations. It was about 5 temples/pyramids which had been built on top of each other.. but each one preserved with mud bricks so therfore the colour and decorations are very well preserved!
We are off on a night bus to Huaraz (i told you we were always on them)! Huaraz is meant to amazing for hiking so maybe we might be adventurous and do some hard core trekking!
Looking forward to another amazing night sleep (or not :s)
Hope all is well and everyone enjoys the bank holiday!!
